Travel by Train
Sweeping along the coastal St Ives Bay Line, past the wide sandy beaches of Lelant and Carbis Bay, to arrive at the pretty little station of St Ives overlooking the spectacular scenery of St Ives Bay, must be the best way to start a great holiday!
The main line from Plymouth connects at St Erth for St Ives. A relaxing and truly ecologically sound way to travel, one of the advantages of staying at Lowenna is being able to benefit from railway transport service connecting the cottage to all parts of the country. The overnight sleeper from London is especially convenient and attractive, although by day the view of the changing landscape is an enthralling experience.
Address: Lowenna, 8 Church Place, St. Ives, Cornwall, TR26 1LU
By Car
Take the M5 to Exeter, the A30 to St Erth and the A3074, which will bring you into St Ives. As you come down the hill you will pass Tregenna Castle on the left and the Ford Garage on the right. Take the next right down Tregenna Hill. At the bottom of the hill bear right down High Street, left round Market Place, turn right towards the sea and left along the Wharf. Drive along the Harbour Front. At the slipway bear left up the hill into Church Place (opposite the Balancing Eel Fish and Chip Shop).
We recommend that you pull in at the front door of the cottage to unload your luggage. Once unloaded reverse down the hill and park in one of the public car parks.
Parking
To reach the nearby Island Car Park, turn left, just past the Sloop Inn, up Fish Street, then turn right into Island square, and left along Island road. This is a short and long stay car park and the weekly rate is £32 (aprox.) which allows you to come and go at will. (Bring cash for convenience)
This is a large car park but if it should be full, follow the one way system until signed to the Trenwith Car Park at the top of town. This is also both short and long stay and the same fees apply.
